Growing The Cares Family with two new trustees
Posted by Alex Smith on 25th March 2021
The Cares Family is delighted that two new senior leaders have joined our Board of Trustees.
Dermot Finch is the Director of Group Operations at The Prince’s Trust, which supports young people into education, training and employment. After leading The Trust’s support in London and the South of England, Dermot is now helping to build an international Prince’s Trust network of support for young people overseas. Previously, Dermot was the founding CEO of the Centre for Cities research organisation and a civil servant with HM Treasury.
Iana Vidal is a public affairs and communications professional, with a passion for supporting people to affect positive change at a local and national level. She has experience across a diverse range of sectors including health, justice, education and finance. Iana has been part of The Cares Family for many years as a younger neighbour at South London Cares and East London Cares, and now also as a coach on The Multiplier programme.
We're thrilled that The Cares Family will benefit from Dermot and Iana’s leadership over the coming years as we develop our ‘Action, Voice, Power’ strategy and seek to help build a new age of connection in communities all across the UK during and after the pandemic. Our new trustees join our established Board which includes further deep expertise in campaigns, communications, local government, finance and strategy.
As Dermot and Iana join The Cares Family board, long-standing trustees David Hayman and Vix Anderton will both stand down.
David has been a trustee since 2013, first joining The Cares Family when it was just North London Cares. His vision and experience have helped shape The Cares Family into the national organisation it is today. Meanwhile, Vix has been a trustee since 2019 and has brought her expertise in operations and wellbeing to the table to help smooth that journey.
Everyone at The Cares Family would like to put on record our gratitude for David and Vix’s support, and to say how excited we are to work with Dermot and Iana over the coming years.
