Growing the family with new trustees

The Cares Family is delighted that two new senior leaders have joined our Board of Trustees.
Seema Kennedy OBE is a leading voice in the areas of disconnection and loneliness and was Co-Chair of the Jo Cox Commission on Loneliness, which led to the creation of the world's first government level loneliness strategy. Seema was the MP for South Ribble from 2015 to 2019, and served as Under-Secretary of State for Public Health and Primary Care. Before entering Parliament, Seema was a lawyer. She was awarded an OBE in 2019.
Nas Morley is a highly experienced and respected leader in the charity sector, including through her previous role as Director of Partnerships and Influence at UnLtd. Before that, Nas was Director of Fundraising and Communications at Microloan Foundation, and Assistant Director of Fundraising at Breast Cancer Now. She brings deep experience across fundraising, partnership management and communications, as well as significant knowledge of the private sector.
We're thrilled that The Cares Family will benefit from Seema and Nas's leadership, scrutiny and guidance over the coming years as we find new ways to help people find community and connection in disconnecting times. Our new trustees join our established Board which includes further expertise in operations, local government, finance and strategy.
